This morning Plymouth Flats held an astonishing 11 Great Egrets (Ardea alba) and 15 Great Blue Herons (Ardea herodias) down at the south end of the main pool— all in one eyeful! A check right after at Forty Fort had 2 more Great Egrets and 3 more Great Blue Herons. And yesterday I counted 21 Great Blue Herons and 5 Great Egrets along the river on a bike ride from Wyoming to Wilkes-Barre.
